Marian Camden, Psy.D., LLC - Licensed Psychologist & Mediator
Hello!

I'm Dr. Marian Camden, and I'm glad you are here visiting my website.  I am a licensed psychologist in the south Denver metro area, providing therapy and counseling to adults, children, and adolescents. I specialize in divorce and trauma and offer counseling and therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Camden works with adults, children, and adolescents in Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Lonetree, Parker, Castle Rock, Littleton, Denver, Aurora, Englewood and other metro-Denver areas.
If you are exploring the idea of counseling, please take a look at the following pages to read more about what I can offer you.  You are also very welcome to call me to talk about how we might work together for you, your relationship, family, or children.  My office number is 720-493-4827.

Adult Counseling and Adult Therapy: While I enjoy working with people dealing with a broad variety of a concerns, my specialties are divorce-related issues, single parenting and step-parenting, trauma and  emotional abuse  recovery, including EMDR and other mind/body recovery techniques.

Child & Adolescent Counseling: Play therapy with children, work with adolescents, and parenting in general are also specialty areas I offer.

Divorce Mediation: For parenting time plans and decision making in divorce and other related issues. While parents make the decisions in mediation, a psychologist specializing in divorce can provide a lot of information about parenting plans that work at different stages of child development, assessing the children's individual needs, how transportation and exchanges will occur, and many other aspects that need to go into your final stipulation or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Post-Divorce Parenting Coordination and Post-Divorce Parent Counseling:Parents often seek help after the divorce.  Caring divorced parents may want help with co-parenting, communication, resolving divorce-related conflict, and developing an effective and respectful business relationship as post-divorce parents.   Decisions that are in the best interests of the child can be challenging, like those related to discipline and parenting, different rules at different homes, childcare, education, extracurricular activities, introduction of new significant others, a step family or blended family. vacation and holiday parenting time, to name just a few.  It's good to have an experienced neutral professional available to help you communicate better and to offer ideas and information.

Psychological assessment or psychological testing for children, adolescents, and adults: Psychological evaluation is helpful in understanding more about oneself, for use in custody or Child and Family Investigator (CFI) evaluation, or for gifted and talented children seeking entrance into the gifted and talented program in a public school (like the Discovery program) or a private school for GT and advanced or able learners.

Parental Responsibilities Evaluation (PRE):  This is Colorado's version of a custody evaluation.  I draw on my years of experience with divorce, trauma, emotional and verbal abuse, and therapy and counseling with adults, children and adolescents and stay on top of current research and changes in the law, to provide high-quality, in-depth evaluation and recommendations for parents and their children.

A personal note:  It has been such a privilege and joy to work with many  adults, children, and families from Centennial, Englewood and the Denver Tech Center, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills Village, Littleton, Lone Tree, Denver, Castle Rock, Elizabeth, and other surrounding areas over the past 15 years.   I have been a counselor since 1982 and a licensed psychologist since 1997.   I started out in social work in 1982, earned a master's degree in counseling and general psychology in 1991 and then went on to earn my doctorate in professional psychology at the University of Denver, graduating in 1995. My work as a psychologist means the world to me, and it is the great people of south Denver who have shared their heartaches, efforts, successes, and joys, that make my work so rewarding.  I look forward to getting to know each one of you who calls or comes in.
