Parenting Time and Decision Making ("custody")
Deciding how to divide the children's time between their two parents and how to allocate decision making can be straightforward or extremely difficult, depending on your situation. My years working professionally with people in divorce allow me to provide you with the latest thinking and research about children's needs in divorce, popular parenting time plans, and how to think about what is best for your children, with their particular ages, personalities, and developmental needs. The nice thing about mediating your children's parenting time plans is that you make all the decisions yourselves. I give you information but do not advise or pressure you in any particular direction. You can avoid tremendous emotional and financial strain if you can settle the divorce simply through mediation.
If your finances are simple, I can help you with that as well. More complicated financial decisions may require advise from financial experts, and I will help you find those resources if you need them.

If you give mediation your best effort and it simply is not working, I can explain the various options open to you. For example, I am happy to share with you what a CFI is, what PC and DM mean, when a PRE is appropriate, and so on. I will also remind you at least once or twice, that any decisions you make together are likely to be more comfortable to you than orders the court is forced to impose.
